Media Player + IE integration
How do I get rid of the mini-WMP on the sidebar of my explorer? Everytime I click a music file to rename it or do something, I have to wait for this stupid thing to load it incase I feel like playing stuff from my browser. How do I kill it? Thanks in advance.

which windows are you using?
im currently working on a win2000pro, media player 9 it may be a little drastical, but you can remove the link for this file type. you cant open these files types by double clicking anymore off course. do this in media player itself. (tools->options->file types) or cou can remove the file type links manually in tools->folder options->file types) i dont know if there's a way to get rid of your problem without losing the file type links (maybe link these files to an old media player, I don't think these support this 'feature'?) if im not mistaking, mp 9 and 7.1 (the previous version) delete the other at install but older ones work together with 9 or 7 hope this can be of any help.

Open IE, go to tools, internet options, advanced, scroll down to Multimedia, look for "Don't display online media content in the media bar". Put a tick mark in it.
If the tick mark is there, take it out, click apply, put it back in, click apply, ok, restart IE. |
