e-mail link

hello
whenever i click on an e-mail link on a web site i get a message your default e-mail is not installed correctly.any ideas for a fix

What is your default mail application? You can reinstall whatever it is and see if that fixes it, or you can change it.

i use outlook express can it be fixed from the os disk ,if it helps its also a pop3 server

Also what browser are you using? It seems like Netscape will do this if you are using it and you click on a mailto link and you are not using Netscape mail. One reason why I don't use mailto links any more.

If you are using Opera, make sure mail preferences are set to use the default email client on the computer. Netscape/Mozilla should work as long as the box to use it as the default mail client is not checked.

i use internet explorer.i went to control panel, internet options,programs and it says e-mail ,outlook express

Try repairing or updating IE/OE.

thanks people ,fixed it ,under tools there was an option to make it my default mailer
