Importing e-mail

I'm just finishing my new computer , thanks to you all for the inspiration to build it, but I can't get my e-mail to import into the new outlook express. I slaved the old hard drive and have moved e-mail addresses with no problem . I've exported the file to my desktop and when I try to import it I get the message" file in use can't complete " I can't import directly from the old Outlook express either. Any hints or clues as to what I'm doing wrong?

Intel D845PEBT2 , Celeron 2.0 , 265 megs ram, ATI 7000 (thanks Doc.) WD40 gig , XP home

TIA Jamesrpm

Try the old down and dirty trick. Find your mail folder in both installations, and just copy all the .dbx files from the old to the new. Repeat for each identity if there is more than one.

That didn't work , ?
I'm going from diffrent versions of outlook express if that matters.
I copied them over but they still don't show up when I open outlook express 6.

Okay - move them to a temporary folder then import them from a store directory, not an identity.
