Where are they located.
I use Cookie Viewer and its blank so it must be designed to work with IE only. Carl |

I think they're in the Cache4 folder. If not, it may be the Global file, but I think that's just your history. It might be the cookies4 file, but I can't tell since it's pretty much just gobbildygook. So, Im guessing that if you open it, delete everything that's in it, it'll get rid of your cookies. Or, you could have Opera clear your cookies when you close out of the program. That setting is somewhere in the prefernces. Hope this helps.
Hey Kubie, I've got a question for you: Do you have an ad banner? I don't have one. I was just wondering if it was a fluke on my comp or if version 7 doesn't have ad banners.

force_flow2002,
Now that you mention it, I don't have a ad banner. Just a blank space. As far as the cookies are concerned, I was used to deleting the tracking cookies with Cookie Viewer and if it had found new ones, entering them in IE's Restricted sites. Maybe I'll set to delete cookies when I close the browser and enter my usernames and passwords on popular sites I use. Carl |

I upgraded from 6.x to 7 by installing over the top, and my cookies are still in the cache4 folder. I have mine set to dump on exit. Opera still doesn't have a nice cookie manager like Mozilla.
Spybot S&D will find Opera cookies, but deletion through it is all or nothing. Ad-Aware 6 doesn't find Opera cookies. |

Good idea, glc.
I've set mine to dump on exit also. Thanks for the hint. Carl |

force: You get a 14 day reprieve from the ad banner now. I don't remember where I saw that, it might have been in the EULA when I installed it. Mine had the banner from day 1 because I upgraded from 6.05 over the top, the 14 day thing is probably only for brand new installs.
By the way, 7.01 is out now - I just downloaded it and will install it later. I can't find a change log on the site so I can't see what's been changed, I assume it's bugfixes. Edit - just installed 7.01, the 14 day thing is on the screen you see when the install is done and it's asking you if you want to run Opera now. Last edited by glc; 02-10-2003 at 11:56 AM. |

Thanks for the heads-up on the update, glc!
![]() [edit]: I've had v.7 for 11 days, so in 3 more, we'll see if I get ads again.
