What OS?
If Win2k or XP, just go to properties on my network places and double click "local area connection". |

If you are running XP PRO or 2K not sure if it will work on XP home, but you can run Performance monitor and add custom counters such as Network Interface.

If it's 2k server there is a great monitoring tool on the 2k server resource cd.
