GIFs will not display right in IE6

When I go to any site that has Animated GIF images, IE only displays the first frame of animation. Then it just stays there instead of continuing the animation. How can I fix this? I have XP and IE SP1.

Hello PJB,

First click on the "Tools" menu near at the top of your browser, then go to "Internet Options", click on the "Advanced" tab, you will see a list of many different boxes with a check in them and some without, make sure that these specific boxes are checked:

In the "Browsing" section
- Enable visual styles on button and controls on web pages

In the "Multimedia" section
- Play animations in web page
- Show Pictures
- Smart image dithering

Make sure those are checked, and then close your browser, reopen it, and see if that helps

Try clearing your temporary internet files then restore defaults (on the advanced tab).

What speed connection do you have? Who is your ISP? Can you see the flag next to your name waving?
