Reinstalled I.E5. parts of page missing.
Hi guys. hope I am in the right forum for this one. I am running windows me and when I installed me, it automatically installed I.E 5 which I had no problem with. I decided to install I.E 6 but I had al ot of problems with it, not loading the page, very slow etc. until finally I could hardly get anything to load. I have now uninstalled I/E6 and reinstalled I.E 5 and it seems to be running much smoother and faster than I.E6. The only problem I seem to have with it is that it doesn't appear to load some of the web page that I might be on. for instance when I go to PC Mech. I get a message on the top right of the page "Page could not be found" but most of the rest of the page opens just fine. and some of the buttons on the page dont appear ,only a red X where they should be. If I hold the cursor over the X it tells me what they are. for instance on this page where the buttons for search, register,Home, log out etc are, one of the buttons is not showing, just a red X and when I place the cursor over it it says "f a q" and if I click on it there is no problem, it takes me to the faq page. I wonder if anyone knows why this is happenning. is there something I can do to correct it. maybe a setting or something? It works just fine except for this.

Have you tried to repair IE? If not you may want to try that. Personally I run IE 5.5 SP2 and it does a really good job on Win 98. IE 6 just wouldn't run right on this machine. If you want to upgrade to 5.5 here is a link:Internet Explorer . Hope this helps.
