new to the web building experience
hi i was just wondering how to start building a web page. i have a site but i was wondering about ftp converters and what ever else i need to build a site. all info welcome.

I'll probably bring the wrath of true HTML coders down upon myself for this...but here it goes anyway.
I use FrontPage. It's a nice WYSIWYG editor that writes all of the HTML code for you. Combined with a template, you can create some nice looking sites very easily with no HTML coding experience. I use FrontPage, as well. I especially like it for managing my webs.

Frontpage is a bad choice. Frontpage is a WYSIWYG HTML editor. It is always best to learn HTML before you use a WYSIWYG editor. HTML is not hard to learn. FP writes overly bulky browser specific code that doesn't validate with today's standards. Plus most sites done with FP look alike. I personally use Homesite, vi and notepad depending on whats available on a particular machine.
