Sharing DSL Connection
i was wondering how i share a dsl internet connection between 2 computors and i dont want to share the files on the 2 comp just the internet. I was wondering what i need too and how to hook it up if its not straight forward

The easiest way for me was to buy a router (recommend the Linksys BEFSR42) ,a network card for each computer and 2- cat 5 patch cables, connect the dsl modem to the WAN plugin on the router, then run a cat5 cable from each nic to the router. The instructions with the router are pretty easy to understand and if you have any troubles, just post them here and someone will help you out.

HI CRS,
I don't know much 'bout this stuff, but I know it makes a difference if you have an internal or external dsl modem. The above works for external modems. |

Above is also for ethernet connections as USB routers aren't being sold in this country at this time.
