I recently acquired a second computer ,I networked it with my older computer using a LinKsys router to hookup to my cable modem connection. Everything works fine except Yahoo games. the older PC downloads and plays the games fine. the newer will get me to games but will not download . It tells me that it is DONE but game screen remains blank. I contacted Yahoo but their fixes had no results. Is it possible that the newer Pc does not have JAVA loaded on it ? How can you tell? How can I tell (if it is loaded ) that it is working properly. The new system is a COMPAQ with a Celeron 633 mhz , 128 m ram and 20gig HDD.

What operating system are you using? Open Internet Explorer/click on tools at the top/ internet options/advanced tab and scroll/ you should see Microsoft VM or java.

My operating system is Microsoft ME. I am using IE 6. Your suggestion on checking that area was also one of the suggestions from Yahoo, and Java does show up. It doesn't matter what combination of the java stuff is checked or unchecked none of the yahoo games show up. A little further clarification, When I say "won't download" my computer says the JAVA applet is done loading but the playing area stays blank. Is it possible that the Graphics area ( it has no Graphics card )of this machine can't handle these games. Is there another site that uses the Java applets that I can try?

Try downloading and installing the Java Runtime Environment from Sun, that's true Java, not the M$ interpretation of same.

I would like to thank those who helped me with this problem. You were right . I went to the Sun Tech site , downloaded JAVA VM , and in 5 minutes was back to the Yahoo site with the games running. Although my spouse is now happy I fear that Yahoo is going to start charging for the privilege of trying to get rid of all those pop-ups before you can play. Once again Thank You.
