Internet Explorer cannot view latest web site

On a customer’s Win XP today under IE6 I was unable to view the latest page update on a website, although the webmaster assured him that the site was updated with new images. The customer asked a friend to verify on their PC & they confirmed that the website had the new images. This particular website had just been updated with new images but on this PC, IE only showed the previous images on the webpage. Really strange – so I checked exactly the same URL out on my PC when I got home and I was able to view the updated page with the new images. How can this be?

XP is loading the page from it's cache.
Go back to the site, hold down the SHIFT key and hit Refresh (or F5).
If it still doesn't work, in IE, go to Tools, Internet Options, and in the Temporary Internet Files section, click on Delete files, and put a tick mark in "Delete offline content", click OK, and try it again.
Make sure you are NOT on that site when you do this.

It's also possible that the customer's ISP server has a webcache that isn't updating properly. I have a website where I can't view the updated pages straight away, but have to wait as much as an hour to do so. Complaints have achieved only replies that it's "too difficult to change the way the cache works".

It's possible that the ISP is caching pages in a proxy server...I don't know of many that do that on purpose, except AOL.

Thanks for the replies - Jim, your suggestion of Deleting All Offline Content fixed the problem. Much appreciated.
