Free online store software?

I am in search of a free online store/check out program to help sell some products on my site. Do free ones even exist? Because currently I do not have 5-1000 dollars to spend on one...

Thanks,

A lot of people use PayPal. I don't know if they're free or not, though. Might be worth checking out. (No pun intended )

With Paypal,

it is free, but depending on the account that you get, you need to pay a fee whenever you send/receive money( I think).

Paypal is not an online store. It is mainly just a way of paying for something that you bought.

Probably the most popular for people with little programming experience is Miva Merchant . If you have some programming experience, some good ones are PhpShop and osCommerce. All are free. I personally like PHPShop but you would have to have some know how to get it to work for you.

Thanks for the links,

Miva Merchant looks very appealing an easy to use but I could not find the free version of it. Could you be kind enough to point it out?

Thanks,

i think paypal charges you a standard fee per transaction no matter what the price is, in the UK its 5p i think.

you could always get them to pay by cheque, or phone the card details in

Eeks, I thought it was free. It is not worth that amount. I have seen it free or maybe I have seen it free since it was installed by some hosts. Sorry about that.

You will need both a shopping cart and a credit card processor if you want to take credit cards online. Keep in mind that there are transaction fees of 3-5% per item.Paypal is one and Cybercash is another.
