dat to avi

when i download a kazaa file. the file remain a dat file, is there any way to convert the dat file to avi file.

winamp will read it, if you open it by selecting "view all files"

Went a file is still a .dat file, it means that the download has not been completed. So, depending on how's it's been downloaded, you may be just missing a piece of the end, or bits and pieces thoughout the sound file.

VCDEasy rewrites the header so the VCD-DAT file will become an MPEG file.

Nope, no AVI, an MPEG file. VCDs use MPEG, no AVI.

Try to just rename is from a .dat to a .avi. It worked for me once but a few seconds of video was cut out at the end.
