Looking for SIMPLE free email

I have been using yahoo for a long time but since they 'upgraded' it with that calendar, notebook and ads stuff i dont really like it anymore.
Does anyone know for a good simple email ? i just need a text fill in and a 'send " button so to speak.
i ve been looking at myrealbox and gmx but its not really what im looking for .
and at myrealbox, those spam warnings are totally mad . do i understand it right that they can fine you practically for every spam mail that you get.
I try as hard as i can but even my yahoo adress gets a few spams a week.
any ideas?

Try activatormail (www.activatormail.com) it has built in spam guard as well as virus filters. The interface is real simple, functional and clean.
In the past 8-10 months of having an address there (on a really trafficked and public email address), all i've got is about 2 spam emails for the entire time.

I use the above at reboot's suggestion awhile back, but still rely mainly on http://www.softhome.net.

It does take them a couple of days, but because of the great services provided, it's worth the wait.

Send a message via Yahoo to Eaglefeather
My main free online mailbox is at, http://mail.com . It is a fairly simple mailbox and I have had it since 96.

Also you can get a really good, simple box from, http://thefreesite.com . I also have one there that I use for communications with my brother.

Niether of these boxes seem to get much in the way of spam.

i hate hotmail too. not only cuz its microsoft owned but there are even more options, screens and other junk that ensures slow loading even on broadband.
and not too forget the 'every hotmail you read is saved on your hd' issue and so on.

i want to get away from yahoo cuz even they are getting way to flashy. i want something simple and fast.

I dunno what happened to the post I made here yesterday - but myrealbox doesn't fine you for *received* spam - just *sent* spam that's been reported. I have a myrealbox free IMAP account and it only gets maybe one piece of spam a month. I don't *use* the account - I opened it to test IMAP clients but I do check it occasionally.
