With IE open go Tools | Internet Options, click on the Content tab and then the AutoComplete button. Set the options how you want them and Clear Forms and Passwords if necessary.

Tools>>Internet Options>>"Content" tab>>"Auto Complete" button.
Then just un-check the "Web Addressess" box, and that should take care of it. Im on XP home, so it might be a little different, but its basically the same deal.

And here you were cursing and swearing about clearing temp files, when that had nothing to do with the original problem.
If you had explained that it was the stuff appearing after you typed one letter in the URL bar, we could have had you fixed up with a lot less frustration. Not trying to rag on you, but I hope everyone else that reads this takes notice, that the clearer you state the problem the quicker and easier it is to find a solution. It also helps if we get some sort of idea of what you've already tried, and how much experience you have dealing with the problem in question. |

But if you dont know how to fix it...chances are you dont know what is causing it...hard to explain those problems that you dont understand..

also, you could clear this by right clicking on the windows toolbar and going to properties, click on the start menu programs tab and click clear on the documents menu.
