Downloading with IE5
I made the unfortunate mistake of downloading the Getright download manager a while back. I have since gotten rid of that garbage. Now IE5 looks for it every time I try to download something. In the upper left corner of the screen, it says "Getright could not take over the download" Is there anyway to tell IE not to look for getright? I was going to uninstall IE and reinstall it, but thanks to Bill Gates, that is impossible. Any help would be appreciated. I am running windows 2000 if that matters. Thanks.

I'm assuming you're running win98SE, correct?
Try going to your control panel > add/remove programs > "windows setup" tab and see if you can uninstall IE 5 from there. I've long since upgraded to IE6 SP1, so I can't remember if IE5 shows up there. Or, try upgrading to 5.5, if you can't uninstall 5. (Fyi, IE6 SP1 is the newest version)

Sometimes these programs don't uninstall cleanly, leaving references in the registry. You might want to try one of the resistry cleaners out there. REGCLEANER is a popular one.
