opera is struggling

why is Opera struggling so much to start up? I've checked it in the task manager and it's using up to 99% to open but just never gets there. Why is this? I really like Opera but every now and then it does this which is a real pain. Any ideas?

Which version of Opera, what O/S are you running, and what are your system specs?

Hmm... It shouldn't take more than 5 secs to load. Try uninstalling it, then reinstall it.

After reinstalling Opera go to Control Panel and Internet Options then Program. Then look what was checked or unchecked in the box that says: Internet Explorer must check to see..etc. etc...

If Opera crashes or isn't closed properly, this will happen the next time you open it - it sits there and loads everything up the way it was when it crashed then asks you how you want to proceed - load up the way it was, load your home page, or load no windows at all - this startup does take a while.
