In Opera 7.03, the animated gifs appear to run slow, thus appearing jerky.
The same gif in IE6 SP1 runs fine. Anyone else notice this?

Each frame should have a delay time specified, which the browser should observe, except for any variance in loading/caching time of course.
If the GIF is formatted properly frame by frame it should be the same. Try looking at it in an animation program to see if each frame has proper intervals specified? If not that may be why. In general Opera and Mozilla do what they're told, IE does the opposite of what you tell it and does what it "thinks" it should do with the output regardless of user input .

Update:
Since I just upgraded to Opera 7.10, the gifs run better.
