arg... ok so this has been going on for a while... but now I decided to fix it... I left the computer for 4 hours... I get back and theres 43 pop ups on my screen... WHY am I getting this... is there some kind of software i didn't mean to install? I heard kazaa has something to do with pop ups... but FORTY THREE in 4 hours? I think its more than kazaa.... do i need kazaa lite... or a pop up blocker or something to that sort? thanks a lot...

Also, Mozilla is a great browser and has a pop-up blocked built in. It won't stop Kazaa ads, but it should stop some of the companies who might be tracking you. (Also it has some very nice features like download accelerator built in too). Also I recommend getting SpyBot - Search and Destory; run this once a week (even once a month is good), and it will search for all of the known pop-up companies and spyware, delete them off your computer, and attempt to stop them from coming back. Good luck in the ever changing fight against pop-up's

I have mozilla but guess what? one ad popped up and would stay untili disabled my pop-up blocker on mozilla it was like "pop up blocker detected" and it wouldnt go off teh screen unless I exited out of the browser completely...
No i dont have a firewall, but that was because everytime i had one it would screw everything up for some reason.. like trillian wouldnt work, then aim wourldnt.. then the browser wouldnt work like it used to.. I fooled around with the setting.. but with no luck.. I guess I should get one here soon but its just more of a pain than it is worth it for me.. Ill get that spy bot too... thanks a lot ill post back if what I do doesnt fix the problem |

Also look at pop-up stopper from panicware. As far as firewalls go, kerio personal firewall ahs worked well for me and it is free. (only had it a few days though) You may want to visit www. spywareinfo.com for a wealth of info on po-ups, firewalls and just spyware in general.

scorch: You have up to 12 hours to edit a post - in the future please do that instead of posting a new reply to correct a typo. Thanks.
