MSN messenger has been lost

G'day, We had a cable modem installed yesterday, super fast, all our software funtioning ok, except msn messenger, which my daughter uses. When we clicked on the twin bell icon we saw a timeglass momentarily then nothing. So we decided best thing in the circumstances would be a fresh instal from the net particularly as the 700kb now d'load in 10 secs. Nope it appears to instal still clicking on the program wont launch it, We've even re-down loaded IE, that took about 90 secs all up, cleaned all mention of messenger from my disk along with a regclean, still no go. Anybody got any ideas on this one? Thanks in advance. Incidentally the messenger did work once while the cable modem installer was here.

Did you uninstall it first before re-installing it? If not try doing that, sometimes its only a matter of an entry in the registry that needs cleaning up. It is a wierd problem.
