word of mouth = gossip, story telling, passing down what you know, passing around what you know...thats what it means...I think you meant this thread for the general discusion forum...I almost make that mistake all the time

Seems more like spying than gossip. This was part of the email:

Word-of-Mouth.Info is an online meeting place where users from around the world can perform background research on individuals and businesses using the powerful information source known as "word-of-mouth". A user that has had experience with or has opinions regarding an individual or business will submit an "Identification Report" whose purpose is only to identify the individual or business in question. Other users are then immediately able to search through and review these "Identification Reports." When an interesting report (typically regarding an individual or business that the user knows) is found by a user, he/she may then begin to communicate with the report author through our Anonymous Email System to learn the experiences and opinions of the report author regarding the report subject.

*Important! - Word-of-Mouth.Info "Identification Reports" are only for the
purpose of identifying the report subject. They do not contain information additional to that which is viewable at no charge by any and all users. "Identification Reports" do not contain fields into which report authors can possibly enter any information aside from that which is for the purpose of identification. "Identification Reports" do not contain and cannot possibly contain any potentially defamatory information
and "Identification Reports" are not to be construed as positive or
negative.

Looks like a typical SPAM email to me. They have all kinds of tricks to get you to open them. My advice block the addy, but do not, repeat do not click on the unsubscribe link. That only tells them they have a valid email addy and will put you on their lists which they sell to other spammers. Your mail box will then start filling with SPAM in no time at all.

I still haven't figured it out, but I keep getting them, and they relate to posts I make on different forums, mostly military & political in nature.

Spam - Pure and unadulterated I reckon.

Delete and ignore, and if you bother, filter anything with "Word-of-Mouth.Info" to your trash can automatically.

David.

There-in may be the clue dtex. If they are related to posts you have made at other forums then you have an email option set incorrectly.

Go to the forums in question. Then go to your profile or whatever they call your account. They will most likely have an options sections, or it just may be in the Edit your Profile/Account section, but somewhere there you will find an option to have them email answers to your posts.

If you don't want this option say, NO.

The same option is available here at PC Mech, but the default is already set to NO.

If this is not your problem then it is definitely SPAM.

Some of the posts referred to by word of mout are months old.

No, not a user profile problem. I only have an email option set for this forum, and only because I don't visit regularly.
(sorry, I don't have enough expertise to offer much help here, but do have enough sense to come here with my problems)
I'll write it off as spam.
