Any particular advantage of having 5.5 over 5.0?

SARGE,
I don't know the technical reasons, but from what I've read 5.5 is a major upgrade from 5.0. It's supposed to be faster, more stable, and fixes a lot of bugs/problems. I've had no problems with it and haven't even downloaded the recommended service pack.

You also get print preview, pretty handy. Definitely speedy and stable.

5.0 vs. 5.5
Hi Sarge - I have had both 5.0 and 5.5 and I cannot find any difference with either. Perhaps I do not use the extreme features of 5.5? I know that I installed/uninstalled 5.5 several times as 5.5 boosted my hard copy printed fonts to 16 pt. and I could not change them. Finally, thinking that MS would point their updates to 5.5 I just took the 16 pt. fonts and accepted them. I do not have SP1. And the reason is that I had so many problems with the 5.5. install that I am going to hold my current strong, pat hand.

Was just curious. I've got both myself and can't see anything different, although folks are raving about 5.5. I got mine on a cd, so SP 1 may not be necessary. I checked the pack at MS and seems I've already got the stuff.
