Fax over the Internet, How?????

I’m helping a friend who uses WinFax Pro at his business. His 6 salespeople fax dozens of purchase orders and order acknowledgements to their various vendors and dealers every day. Right now, they all connect through a “host” computer on the network. The host computer sends out all the faxes via its internal modem. This is a very slow process and if the host locks up for some reason or other, the entire process stops, ie, it stops everybody from faxing out. Seems like a huge bottleneck to me.

Is it possible to set him up so they can all fax over the Internet? I believe WinFax has such an option in its setup.

Check out www.tpc.int ; I had used it a number of years back and it was reliable, I dont know how it is now. Check out the alternate fax services list for newer services as well.

I think for some people like me who don't really fax that much. Concord looks like a nice service but I wish there wasn't that $5 dollar monthly fee. Has anybody have any experiences with www.masterclick.com? Does anyone else know of a decent Internet faxing service with no monthly charge.

That service is great when I just need to send simple text faxes. But sometimes, I need to send some graphics and other customized faxes rather than plain text. So was wondering if anyone had any pleasant experiences with a faxing service that does not charge a monthly fee, but only for the times being faxed. I've tried both www.masterclick.com and www.send2fax.com and both were inconsistent and unreliable as a service. I am beginning to believe that reliable service only exists in the services that do charge the monthly fees. But I think I might as well buy my own fax machine before I pay for monthly services.
