looking for some direction
hey guys,
i've been interested in getting into web design, graphics, and generally learning more about the internet and how it works for a while. I was hoping that you guys could direct me to some good sites on any of the above, or any quality books that would help me learn the ins and outs of html, graphic design, or the inner workings of the internet... I know this sounds a little vauge, but any help would be greatly appreciated. I've found it difficult finding good sites on any of these areas... thanks in advance, - ryan |

www.sitepoint.com has great articles on web languages, web design, search engines, etc.
As for how the net works, How Computers Work by Ron White explains it very clearly.

This is a good site for html tutorial's if it is still online. Haven't been there in a very long time. Another excellent site for the answers to any of your inquires is: http://about.com Just select the area of interest and you will find loads of great info.
