My isp cuts me off every 2 hrs so i have to keep re-logging on to the net, this is to stop people hogging the lines, i live in the uk and this is a common thing for isp's to do here. This means that if i'm downloading a big file taking several hours, i have to be at my pc every two hours. I would like to get some sleep som, etimes and leave the computer to do it's stuff, but due to the cuttof thing this is difficult.
What i want to know is, is there a setting in windows explorer or a piece of software that would automaticaly reconnect to the web if i'm not there at the pc? I've looked in the explorer options and cant see anything, so i'd be really greatful if someone could help me with this, thanks. |

This will reconnect you. You can get Bullet Proof FTP which will reconnect to the download site and resume a download automatically too. |

There are many, many utilities around for this. A good place to locate them is http://www.WebAttack.com
A simple trick I use, though, is to leave Outlook Express running, and set to check the mail once every minute or two... seems to work fine for holding the ISP open. |
