Internet Explorer, failed images
I'm not really sure what has caused it but internet explorer seems to fail loading images a lot more than i've ever noticed before. I seem to have to constantly right-click an image every few pages i visit of any site and do "show picture" then it shoes up fine.
It's usually just one or two images and it doesn't happen every time a pageloads but like i said, maybe every few pages loaded and it gets irratating. I don't think my drives are fragged (defragged everyday) and i even moved the tmp files folder to a seperate partition and it's not any better. Any ideas? It's like the "can ie be bothered loading images" tolerance level has been switched down. Happens on both of my modems too. Really i'm not sure on the cause. Thanks |

What types of images are you having trouble with .jpg, .gif, etc... What OS are you using and what version of IE.

I had a similar problem a while back. You may want to give this a shot. http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.p...threadid=61641 If it doesn't work I can point you to a few other possible causes.

Thank you very much!! Problem was solved instantly after going through the instuctions in the post (tested it on one website which ALWAYS fails). i'm sane again!
Really, i'm starting to get very fedup with M$ products and i find i've been using things like Netscape ( :eek ) and going "this is great". Weird, but true! Last edited by Radgam; 06-06-2003 at 08:16 AM. |

Great. I'm glad it worked for you. I know what you mean about some MS products. There are days when Outlook and I are bitter enemies.

hmm, strange...
Guess what!
I got this image problem too, but it doesn' matter which browser I'm using. So Mozilla and Explorer both have this problem. How can this be? Hint: A possible cause of this might be (?) that there was an unsuccessful installation of IIS to my Windows XP Professional not long before the problem appeared. Only the "deleting files" phase was successful (destroying things is never a problem :-))) but the installation was not. |
