Okay, first thing: on your "welome page", the pic is murder. It's too large byte-size and too large visually, for you have to scroll down to make your selection.

Personally, I dislike "welcome pages", for they don't really do anything. I would get rid of it all together since you already have a link to your forums on your index page. Visitors want to see your site, not just a welcome link page.

Pretty neat! Although personally I would like a little color, seems kinda drab. I do like the layout, good luck growing.

Yep, gots to get a bit more eye friendly while still being bandwidth friendly..dull greys may look sleek and all...but you want to attract people, and make them want to stay around...and for that you need bright visuals and engaging layouts...

Keep in mind that to keep people coming and to attract new visitors, you have to have something for them to come for besides a pretty site. PC Mech, for instance is a fairly well designed site but I have yet to hear of people coming here because the site looked nice. They come here because they get their problems solved or to help others or just to hang out. So to attract more visitors, you need to make your site as unique as it possibly can be and give them plenty of content.

Great design without great content is like a Ferrari that has run out of gas. It could be easily passed by any old clunker with a full tank.

Site popularity and traffic is more about CONTENT and what they get out of it, not really about prettiness.

K I took down the welcome page...I never really wanted it in the first place. My co-webmaster liked it thats why he didnt take it down. It was actually a winner of an image contest we held. I liked it. You guys were right though, thanks. Any other suggestions?

You could try doing "rounded corners" on all of your boxes. Might not go along with the rest of your design, though.

It would definately be a plus, though, if you could add a little color. Try using shades of blue.

Also, just for security pusrposes, you may want to protect your staff's addresses a little bit. http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.p...ighlight=%2664

It looks alright so far. It's still kind of bare, but since it's still new, it's to be expected. Like some of the others have said, it needs more color.

But, still, good job so far!

It's a good site, well designed, and the forums are good. Really the only way to get more traffic/members is thru advertising the site and word of mouth. Keep the forums well regulated and visitors will keep returning as long as the information is helpfull. It won't happen overnight, but you have started off well. If the users like what they get there, they will tell others, but a banner ad on some other popular sites will certainly help.
