IE problem
Hey, when i use IE (im using v6) WHen ever i try to access any webpage, it will sit there for like 10+ seconds with "detecting proxy settings..." in the status bar??? I tried using mozilla, and its lightning quick pages load almost instantly?
I dont have a clue how to fix this, if anyone has a clue plz help! Later! |

How are U connecting to the NET?? Probably something underTools> internetOptions>Connections Tab and we need to know what are the current settings for the connection U use?

I have cable, so under connections there is nothing there.

OK, so under the connections tab, click on LAN Settings and see what is checked in there....

Go where KT indicates and uncheck the automatically detect settings box.

It used to happen too..I think basically because IE is being a b****.

Yup, that was it. all i needed to do was uncheck "automatically detect proxy settings" or whatever it was, and now i no longer have any problems, my internet is back to being fast!
