Setting IE up

Hey, I just reformatted my old gateway, installed windows 98 & drivers and all that stuff, but am now clueless as to how to get my internet back up. I'm on DSL from Alltell, so what do I do now? Thanks.

OK, what U probably need is the disk U installed from Alltel the first time, and just run the setup.exe file to load Alltell's connection software on your freshly loaded PC. Your NIC/LAN card is probably good to go from when U reloaded win98. If it isn't detecting new hardware everytime U boot then all U should need to do is load the connection software from alltel, run it and put your user name and password in to connect..
There's 2 types of DSL line:

ADSL = Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Line, Which had much faster download speeds than upload speeds..

SDSL = Synchronous Digital Subscriber Line, Same speed in both directions..

You won't really really see SDSL for residential use, it's quite expensive. What U need to know if U don't have a disk from Alltel is what protocol is your DSL. (ie. PPPOE), That determines how U set it up, and I'm assuming U have 1 PC hooked direct into the DSL modem and no router inbetween...
