Problem in URL

Dear freinds ,
I am using IE6 as the default web browser and also use
Fast Browser Pro 5.1 as a regular browser. Till recently, there was no problem. Few days back I visited few porno sites but later discontinued. But after this I have a very peculiar problem.
Whenever I give any URL in the address like 'lycos.com' without prefixing 'www', the URL automatically changed to some porno address without my interruption. If I type 'www.lycos.com', then it is ok.
Can anyone help me to solve this problem?? Will reinstalling the Browser help? Unfortunately, this is happening with both IE6 as well as Fast Browser 5.1.

Please help.

Regards

Have you done a malware check? If not download Spybot's Search & Destroy.

You may want to do an anti-virus check while your at it.

Pretty sure adware/spyware has taken over your system there. Very easy to get rid of, or at least I think so, for I have not had that problem.

Try running these two pieces of software:

Spybot Search & Destroy

Ad-Aware

Let me know if it worked.
