what do you mean by php software? a testing server, a php editor? Im not sure as to what you mean by software. As for a testing server, check out foxserver, it self installs, and is very easy to use http://www.foxserv.net/portal.php As for a php editor, you can use any text editor *notepad* I personally use a progran called crimson editor.

If that doesnt help.. oh well i tried, im not quite clear on what you wanted to start with so ...

LATER!

You can download PHP from Php.net. Once you install PHP on either a Linux or a Windows machine, you will have to capability to run (parse) PHP scripts. HotScripts and other sites have a ton of ready made, usually free scripts for download.

If you are talking about PHP forums.

You would need a MySQL server to properly handle the database for your php forums.
