Lots of broken images in Mozilla
I'm running Mozilla 1.3.1 w/ xp pro , and when I go to alot of websites, most of the images will not show up. It just shows a little picture icon that has the corner torn.
I had v1.4, but downgraded when this problem started, because I thought that might be the cause, but it is still doing it. Also, it only happens on some pages, Pcmech works just fine, but on sites like Svc.com, almost nothing shows up... Its getting really really annoying, does anyone know why this is happening? Thanks |

Do you have Mozilla set to only accept images that come from the originating server?

Another thought. For the websites that dont show images properly, is the style of the website all messed up as well?
If it is, your probably blocking certain sites in your localhosts file.. |

The location of your hosts file depends on your OS. Which one are you using?

It is located in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc (assuming you installed Windows to that drive and directory). Just open up the HOSTS file in a text editor to take a look. There shouldn't be much in there if you haven't put anything there yourself, but if you have a lot of entries it may be causing the problem.

It looks like there is only one in there
"127.0.0.1 localhost" Should there be something else? |

No, that is just fine. The problem has to be something else then.
Have you checked the Image Manager in Mozilla to make sure that those sites are not being blocked individually? |

Yea, its empty...
It dosent block all images on a site, only just a coupple. Strange thing is I found, that if I click on a link, then click back, I will get most of them, or more at least... And if i push refresh, either nothing happens or I get different pictures, and the ones that were showind up before say they are broken... Thanks for all your help |
