Question Thingamajig above the taskbar

I use to have a thingy above the task bar that would tell me the status or progress of,the loading of the web-page that was coming up next. Somewhere along the line,I've lost it.(Ithink when I changed ISP's) Does any body have a clue what I'm talking about, and where the little bugger might be hiding? Thanks for your input....Tink Win.98se--IE5.5

If you are using Internet Explorer, try pulling down the view menu and click on status bar.

I had a thingamajig above the taskbar once. Drove me half nuts... no matter what settings I dinked with, I couldn't get it to move or go away. It was showing up on top of everything -- wordprocessor, browser, you name it.

Even tech support at Dell was of no help whatsoever -- and hey, those guys are usually really great.

Some Windex finally got rid of it, though...
