How do I use an ADSL modem to connect to a narrowband 56K service?
I tried but it says, "Failed to connect to remote computer"

Are you trying to dial into the other computer or connect to it accros the internet?

With only and adsl modem, you cant connect to another modem through the phone line.

If you want to connect to another comp other the internet, that can be done, what do you want to do with the connection? file sharing? games?

I'm trying to connect it to the internet...
it should be possible isn't it?

I wanna use the narrowband service for chatting, cos it's a real waste to use the expensive broadband service for chatting...
heehee, my dad's been complaining bout the monthly bills, u see

I still don't understand what you want to do, but you need an analog modem to connect to a dialup ISP.

Your ADSL bill should be the same each month.
Mine is $39.00 so you should be able to chat
using ADSL for internet access without upsetting
your dad. If you want to use Dial up service I
think you could unplug the RJ45 from the wall
and plug your computer into a RJ11 and use a
free ISP.(I think)

Sounds more like you have ISDN, not ADSL.

You sure you have DSL?
