Outlook Message Rules Problem
Hi, I have used, for some time, outlook message rules to either sort my mail or to combat SPAM.
A number of my rules work most of the time. Occaisionally, I'll get a message that says 'I don't have permission to execute a particular rule'. I do, I am the administrator on the systems concerned. One of the rules is a filter to permanently delete the huge flow of SPAM. I have added many filter words to the rule such as 'porn' etc. What can I do to stop this happening?

I seem to have been getting very unwanted garbage porn related crap ever since I set up an MSN passport account, anyways, I block anything from that domain like for example I'll get one and then just block anything from>> *.pornjunk.com

The reason you keep getting porn is due to your computer storing info from them. Once you log on to internet it reaches out to porn ads.
To rid your computer from these stored ads delete cookies and all files from your temporary internet folder...but it does not end here. Install free adware utility. http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/ Next, Some ads also install to your registry key on your computer. You can get a free registry cleaner from: http://www.vtoy.fi/jv16/shtml/regcleaner.shtml HTH, |

Outlook Still a problem though
Thanks for the tips...
My problem is a bit different though! I have never been to any of these sites that send me SPAM. They have harvested my addresses from my many websites (over 200). I set up rules in Outlook to kill the emails as they come in. But periodically, the rules message bit of Outlook, tells me (the administrator) that I don't have permission to execute the rule! I know it's a microsoft blip (again). We are encoding our mailto: tags on the websites to prevent them being harvested, but there are 1000's of spammers out there with our addresses already. Hotmail, MSN or any webmail account is not an answer that will suit us. How can I get my filter rules to work ALL the time in Outlook? |
