no cookies?
hi,
i am running Internet explore 6 and for some reason it will not make cookies anymore or something.. like any forums i go to ill login and it works.. but if i restart my computer and come back the the forums i have to login again.. it usto keep my loged in but now it doesnt.... did a setting get changed on my comp or something? |

At what level do you have the security settings at for IE?

Have you tried going to tools>internet options>privacy and at the bottom under web sites click on the edit button,and then you can see if your cookies are being blocked,if so click on the allow button ,you can choose all or pick the ones you want.

yea and it doesnt sayu anything is being block. but i put int he urls to the site i visit a lot and pushed allow but that still doesnt work .,,

You might need to run a repair of IE and depending on you OS this will differ on how to perform the repair. For XP go here any other OS you should be able to run the repair from the add/remove applet in control panel.

Do you have any software running that maybe clears out your cookies upon restart?

nope.. just internet explore 6 running on Xp home edition with SP1.

Check your IE settings carefully - I think IE6 added the ability to dump cookies on exit.

Try and rule security setting out. Put them on Low, or Custom, and see if it still rejects cookies, if it does, then its bound to be something causing a conflict...

ok well now i went into it and set EVERYTHING to default i also removed all the sites that i set to always allow cookies to so its 100% defualt and now it allows cookies to about half of the site so i stil have to login in..
