Question

Hey im thinking of adding a second modem until I get Cable/ADSL and I was wondering if anyone here can advise me whether its worth it and what improvments I will see. Especially with Ping, when playing games like UT.

Cheers.

Andrew.

Pings won't improve much if at all. You will get ISDN-ish download speeds, but an analog connection is an analog connection is an analog connection. You can only get those pings so low with a modem.

Also be sure that your ISP will support and allow this before running out and buying a second modem. Some charge more, some won't let you do it at all. They have to have supporting software on their end for a multilink to work with one dialup account.

At the moment im getting a ping of 175. So its OK.

One more question, If I have two modems on my LAN will two people be able to play UT with reasonable pings?

And has any one tried to get two modems running? Both will be ISA in my case.

Cheers.
Gryphon.
