tool bars

my ie 6.0 has a tool bar that keeps comming up and i want to uninstall it is there a way? i some how downloaded it and it wont go away

Hi Evo,

It's probably some sort of spyware program. Download and run Ad-aware and it should get rid of it. Hope this helps.

ok i think it came up when i installed the msn messenger plus! thingy

If you don't want to uninstall just disable it, right click on the toolbar and there should be a drop down menu where you can uncheck the ones you don't want showing up.

Have you checked Add/Remove programs to see if it has an entry?

Well, you can disable it while you figure out how to get rid of it.

To disable it, go to Tools>InternetOptions>Advanced, then uncheck the "enable third-party browser extensions" check box. You will have to restart IE for it to go away.

However, whatever spyware you have will still be installed.

can you give us a name of the toolbar, or something like that so we can track down a way to rid your system of it?

um the wierd part is that it can with the msn plus and it changed its name to google and my google bar is under
fptlyioufre. but the thing that came with it is the fpt one
