Pissed Flooding my mail!!

Yo guys - I got a hotmail problem. The last couple of days, out of no where, I get my mailbox flooded by these wierd emails from "Hotmail WebCourier"

Todays message was "Pronta-entrgra", its all in spanish...I have no idea how it started, or why, but it has, I looked around in options, didnt see anything unusual, I havnt signed up for anything, especially something spanish.

Anyone got any clues how this started? Im getting like 200messages all at once...Its not from some random email, its got one of their little mail icons, not the official MSN logo, but looks like what Im assuming to be a newsletter of some sorts, but I havnt signed up for anything...any ideas?

Thanks guys

The same thing happens to me every once in a while: I start getting dozens of the same spam. Just block the address and ignore it.

Well, I got one of the free hotmail accounts, and the thing with them is, they only allow to block like 250 addys, and I am already WAYYY past that number...So all I can do is delete...Its wierd though, cause its out of no where...

You can still "block all messages from @xxx.com" even if your block sender list is full.

it's happened to me once....

i opened my inbox and had about 120 messages... all from the same address, with the same subject line... probably one of their spam machines got stuck and we were the unlucky recepients... i'm also way over my limit of blocked addresses, but i'm thinking of removing about 20 of them so i can block the new offenders... hopefully, the 20 i'm removing won't reappear since it's been forever...

good luck

About a week ago, although my Junk Box is set to exclusive, I got multiple copies of some spam delivered to my Hotmail Inbox.

Those items, initially 12 unique, would mushroom to about 72. They simply would not delete. They would also synchronize with my OE account the same. The problem was resolved about 36 hours later.

Until it was, it was frustrating.

I prefer to wait it out and just ignore spam. I've tried mail washer type programs and in the long run they just bring on more mail. If a spammer has any clue that your address is valid, he can sell you address, or continue sending you junk. By just not replying, they sometimes become discouraged and stop sending to your address. I installed and ran an antispam program that pinged the sender with a message that the address no longer exsisted. The spammer must've recognised the message because in no time I was getting 75 or more messages a day. I actually ended up changing my address.

I use Mailwasher to filter the incoming spam, which is a lot, but I always uncheck the Bounce option.

I like this proggie because it allows me to see what's on the server *before* downloading it to my PC, this way I have been able to block messages with virii and other dangerous ones.
