Ad Aware 6 has Spyware?

Someone told me that Ad Aware 6 has spyware... is this true?

I run both ad aware and spybot search and destroy,and if it has then spybot cant detect it,so I`m guessing it does not.

I think what you may be talking about is probably other software that somebody has made to fool people in to thinking they are using hte correct software, but is in fact some sort of Trojan.

If I remember correctly, older versions of both programs detected each other as spyware before they really started getting widely used.

If someone makes a claim like that, I would suggest you always ask them for their source or reasons.

If it were discovered that it had spyware, no one would use it. The company is probably smart enough to know that.

If you have Spybot installed and have used it,the spyware AdAware finds within it is in the backup files Spybot automatically makes when it "Fixes Selected Problems."

So I guess, technically, Spybot does have some spyware.
