Is this occurring frequently? It could be an issue with your modem ie the modem could be connecting at a speed that is too high for the telephone line conditions. Do you have any other equipment connected to the telephone line eg another phone, an answering machine, fax etc, if you do try removing those when you are using the net. Do you have call waiting enabled?
I would contact your ISP and see what they have to say on the matter. Have you tried another ISP? I have seen people suffer disconnects with one ISP and when they change to another the problem disappears. If your current ISP is not really interested in helping you I would be looking to change anyway. Also look at http://www.56k.com and look at the message boards there, reading some of the posts there may give you an insight into the possible problem. Chris. |

Are you playing cards "online"? If not, and you're connecting and decide to play one of your pc's games, the ISP is kicking you off with no activity flowing. You can have browser check for mail every 5-10 minutes if that's the case. If you're getting kicked off while regular surfing, that's another issue. Be more clear with your trouble description.
