Ways to speed up my browser?
I disabled the play animations in the Multimedia section of Advanced/Internet Options and it's noticeably speed-ed up my browser. Are there any other tricks I could use?

You might want to consider using a differnet browser if you want better performance. IE works perfect most of the time, but I have noticed the newest version of Firebird http://www.mozilla.org/products/firebird/ runs nice and quick. Its worth a try! But I still use IE most of the time

I'ld stick with IE, although lots of folks swear by second party browsers.
Here are a couple tips you may already know: keep your cookies and temporary internet files folder cleared out on a regular basis... and in the control panel you'll find an icon for your modem... if you click on it and click on the properties button, you'll be given the option to choose your maximum speed. I've found by setting it at 4800, you'll get the best results. I'm sure more folks will post more tips...if I think of any more I'll post again...l |

Hi Dan,
I believe that the default modem speed is 115200. Did you get better performance by moving the maximum speed DOWN? This is for dial up, right? |
