upload to my website

Hello,
I host a website using Xitami for my family and have pictures and mp3s available for download. How do I allow picture and mp3 uploads without making everyone use FTP software? Most can barely operate their computers so I'm really trying to avoid FTP.

Thanks

I'm sure there are some free scripts you can get from http://www.hotscripts.com such as cgi,php programs that will allow you to upload from a website. Thats one idea. I'm sure others have more suggestions.

Hope this helps.

If you have individual links to each picture and mp3, you could put some instructions on the page above the links to the pictures and mp3s telling them: "If you're using Internet Explorer, right click on the link and choose "Save target as" which will let you save the picture or mp3 on your computer."

Or, for the pictures, put some instructions on the page telling them:

"Right click on the picture and choose "Save Picture As..." which will let you save the picture to your computer."

Well, you would first have to get a programming language like PHP. Here is how to install it with Xitami on windows.
Then you would have to have some kind of upload script, check Hotscripts for those.
Then I would at least, although I don't know if Xitami supports it, secure it by at least putting the upload script in a passworded directory.

The final advice is to not allow people to upload mp3's. You are very likely to get in trouble doing so, since the RIAA loves to prosecute. Your ISP might also cancel your account if you have a website with mp3's on it.
