IE6, Browser doesnt respond to button click

My wifes computer running IE6 will not respond when you click a button on a web site, it will respond if you click a link on the same page however. It does this with and without zone alarm running. I have cleared the cache, deleted all files, set the propertys to check for new update every time page is visited and nothing. The site is Andale and its the first page that loads after logging on.

What other settings should I check?
Is this an Andale problem?
I dont think it is however because it works on my sons computer.

TIA

What buttons are you talking about?
The tabs at the top are done using java.
If the MS jsva has messed up, you'll need to get Sun java installed, because of the lawsuit, you can no longer get MS's java machine.
Get it at http://java.sun.com/getjava/index.html

Try a repair on IE. Go into Add/Remove programs, select IE, and hit the button. One of the options will be to repair.
Then reinstall java.
Some of the errors on a site are due to the html programmer, and not your browser. It's possible that's the problem here, if you can replicate it EVERY time. If it's random, simply try to reload the page by holding down the SHIFT key, and hit F5.

Well, you didn't say you were running XP, and that makes a bunch of difference.
You went into the registry and changed what from 0 to 1 or vice versa?
Have you been to windows update recently?
Are you using any 3rd party searchbars/toolbars in IE?

Yes, I know it makes a difference. Didnt mention it before by accident. Yes I am updated, No 3rd parties.

Did as below:
How to Reinstall or Repair Internet Explorer and Outlook Express in Windows XP
Method 2: Edit the Registry and Install Internet Explorer 6

When you try to reinstall the same version of Internet Explorer, you may receive the following error message:

Setup has detected a newer version of Internet Explorer already installed on this system.
Setup cannot continue.
To avoid this error message and reinstall the same version of Internet Explorer and Outlook Express, follow these steps:
While you are logged on as an administrator, click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
Locate the appropriate registry subkey, right-click the IsInstalled (REG_DWORD) value, and then click Modify.

To reinstall only the Internet Explorer 6 browser component on Windows XP, use the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\{89820200-ECBD-11cf-8B85-00AA005B4383}

To reinstall only Outlook Express 6 on Windows XP, use the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\{44BBA840-CC51-11CF-AAFA-00AA00B6015C}

Change the value data from 1 to 0, and then click OK.
Quit Registry Editor, and then install Internet Explorer 6.
To reinstall Windows XP updates, visit the following Microsoft Windows Update Web site:
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

Just noticed this at bottom of the Microsoft page.
By default, Internet Explorer 6 is preinstalled in all versions of Windows XP and cannot be removed. To provide computer manufacturers more flexibility in configuring desktop versions of Windows XP, Microsoft has made it possible for OEMs, administrators, and users to remove user access to Internet Explorer while leaving the Internet Explorer code intact and fully functional to make sure the functionality of programs and operating system functions that rely on it. For example, Windows XP supports an "IEAccess=off" switch in the Unattend.txt file, and Internet Explorer has been added to the Add/Remove Windows Components section of the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel. This does not reinstall Internet Explorer.

I cant find how to remove it, only repair or upgrade. The above article mention how to re-install, if you cant remove it then why would you re-install it????

Often a reinstall will set all the settings back to their original state.
Before you try a reinstall of IE6, try setting everything to defaults in Tools, Internet Options, Security, and Advanced.

I haven't tested the site's html, but it could simply be the data isn't getting through correctly, for whatever reason.
I suggest just refreshing the page often, and see if you can navigate that way. Maybe inform the webmaster of the site too.
