Opening port 1080

I have ZSNESW to play my roms (BTW I do own the games I have on roms) but I cant play with UDP unless I open port 1080. If i play without UDP it lags like crazy and im guessing the port is blokced because of my router. Can anyone please tell me how to open port 1080?

Somewhere in the router's setup should be a place to "Forward Ports." Just enter the port number there, tell it which computer to forward it to and apply the changes.

With Linksys routers, and maybe all of them, you can forward a port to one computer only so if you have two computers you want to open that port to, you'll need to put one into the router's DMZ.

I typed it in and it asked for a username and password. Would I have to type in my internet password and username or my windows username and password?

It should be the linksys user / pw. If you did not assign anything, check the manual for the default.

Linksys default is leave user blank and use admin for password. When you get in, I recommend you change the default password.

Might be time for you to read the manual for the router - I know they set up almost automatically but there's stuff in the manual you need to know.
