MSN Problem

Hi,
Been running the new MSN messenger no problem till last night. Our online game has its own chatroom which i joined last night, its part of MSN groups. When i joined i had to download the chat software which i did, all of a sudden got the message that there was an error in MSN and messenger would stop running. Thought no more of it. Today when i go to sign in it won't let me. The thing i can't understand however is that when i try to go to MSN.com or Hotmail.com i can't connect to the website while other websites are no problem. I've uninstalled Messenger but when i go to reinstall i can't connect to MSN website or hotmail.
I'm running AOL 8.0 browser, i've done a virus check and its clean. Is there a conflict with Internet Explorer? or is there something i've missed. I'm tearing my hair out here as i use Messenger a lot. I can't do system restore because it never completes the restore for some reason, but that was happening long before this problem so i don't think it has anything to do with that.

Please help!

Thanks in advance

Mackem

Well, I can not get to MSN Hotmail either,

I tried my wifes computer to see if it was something I did and it popped up with messenger service needed an update (I do not run any chat software on my PC). It downlaoed and installed the new security tools etc/ It pops up and says I have 27 hotmail messges but I can not get to them through messenger.

I normally use outlook with hotmail and when I try to get the messages I get:

Task 'Hotmail: Folder:Inbox Synchronizing headers.' reported error (0x800CCC0D) : 'The server could not be found.'

When I just try the hotmail site itself I time out and am unable to get there at all. There appears to be a major issue.
