A lot of people run both, as each can catch things the other doesn't... plus, they are both free, anyway!

I use both plus swat it. swat it doesn't catch anything but it's free. in fact I run NAV, folding, swat it, spybot, adaware, PowerAlert, at least 3 IEs, and cuteftp. According to AsusProbe, highest CPU temp is 49C, mobo is 33C. Plus, my PC is inside my closet.

I use both, but there were times where I ran Adaware twice and it still did not find anything (even after being updated) and Spybot found everything Adaware didn't, and cleaned it.

When I do maintenance, I run both. Each seems to find it's own stuff. Also install both on customer machines I service.

I only use ad-aware I also run firewall and Nav. My firewall blocks out alot of it and then I also use browser with pop up blocker.

I used both untill my spybot stoped respondingl. Ad-aware is very friendly and stable. They both find things the other won't.

He makes a very good point here.

On my chic's mechine I have her firewall and browser security settings nearly maxed out, it does prevent her from do somthings but no viruses and Ad-Aware finds no items sence I made these changes.

I use both programs with Pop-Up Stopper. Many people here at PC-Mech gave me the idea and I have had no problems. Like a few others have said, each program finds some different things than the other.

Sometimes spybot doesn't get everything, sometimes ad-aware doesn't get everything. So if you have both one will get what the other misses.

I too use both.

Once cleaned the simplest,( yet to some annoying), way to keep spyware away is to simply set your browser to override the default cookie handling, and prompt you to accept the cookies.

If it can't write the cookie, in most cases, it can't write the spyware unless you install it.
