AOL Pains and Problems

Ok... Well I don't use AOL... And never would considering that you have to keep open that thing that call a browser, but have just ran into a problem. I am supposed to help this lady, don't know her, never talked to her, and didnt get to ask about her problem(she is my friends mom's friend), but as I said a second ago... she hasn't talked to me, and the info was probably relayed to my friend from his mom, who no offence... but she kept refering to Microsoft as his ISP .

Her problem is that she moved up to Alaska recently, from the lower 48, and can't get online. She said it loaded up AOL, but she couldn't go anywhere from there. Now I am thinkin that maybe it is just a page from the cache... and she isn't connected so all she would have to do is connect. So fix the problem with her modem(bad # and such....) But she also said that it worked in two states in the lower 48, and I am wondering if maybe she is just trying to do a long distance call to AOL in where ever she last was. Would that happen with AOL.... I know that it would with my internet... but they are Alaska only so maybe there is a difference? She admited to not being much of a computer person so I don't blamer her if she just didn't get a new # or someting like that because that is what I would assume she would have to do right?

Ok well sorry if this is a little jumbled.... I am extremely tired since school just started and I had all this homework and stuff.... Well if ya need clarification on anything just say so... and any idea's of what to try when going to help her(in 2 days) would be greatly apreciated....

Have them open AOL and click on the Access Numbers button. It will ask for the area code, then dial a 800# and give you a list of numbers, check the boxes for the local numbers and they will be added to the location you choose.
