Web Site Links

I have a computer running Windows XP Pro, and am having problems with Outlook Express and Outlook, hopefully somebody else has has this problem and can give me a solution.

Any time I receive an email containing a link to a web site, clicking on it will not open my browser, IE 6,or direct it to the web site.
If the link is sent to me as an attachment it will open the site.

I have previously run the regedit fix for file extensions, turned off every reference to security in properties. Now I am disgusted and need a break.

I have tried both OE, Outlook 2k, and Outlook XP all with the same effect.

Thank you

Update

I have now tried the copy and paste method in my browser and it works as expected.

Tried forwarding the email to another machine and it works flawlessly, as I expected, no dead links.

The problem is localized to this machine.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
