I'd start by uninstalling "Messenger Plus".

If you want to keep Messenger Plus but want to lose the toolbar, in Internet Explorer, go to View>Toolbars and click on the Messenger toolbar to uncheck it and it should disappear. It will still be installed, just hidden.

There's quite a bit of information about the spyware that comes with Messenger Plus on this page.
After briefly scanning it, it looks like the best option is to uninstall Messenger Plus, run Spybot to get rid of the last of the lop spyware, then reinstall Messenger Plus, being careful to use the option not to install the spyware. |

There is either spyware on the computer, or some program running you can see in Add / Remove programs that is placing that bar there.
I saw a computer today that had EVERY SINGLE piece of spyware I have ever heard of installed. Took me an hour to clean that puppy up enough to get it to browse. |

I'd give that a try.
When you click on View | Toolbars, what ones are checked?

It may be tedious, but if you can post what is in your add/remove programs I might be able to spot the perpetrator. Or better stlil, email it to me.

If you can get the entire list yes. You may have to make two exposures.
